SMS03:006 40 years of Southdown PD3's 1958 - 1998

Southdown Motor Services took the first batch of Leyland Titan PD3 'Queen Mary' buses in May 1958. Through 11 successive batches, 285 were built with Northern Counties bodywork, the final one in July 1967. These buses have as much of a following amoungst transport enthusiasts as does the AEC Routemaster. This Line-Art card shows the first delivered TCD827 & 424DCD the open topper in traditional livery that continued with Stagecoach as of 1998 when this modern postcard was published.
