Buying a new book? Do support and look after the traditional and particularly the Independent bookseller, with a ‘Bricks & Mortar’ shop where possible, or maybe a dealer that actually previously had a shop, even those that like us, after closing ours, still support those independent publishers in getting across their publications to the readers.

Despite having listings of every book with an ISBN, many boycott Amazon as buyer and or seller in preference to support a ‘bricks & mortar’ shop and online outlets without a connection to the likes of Amazon like Abebooks and Bookdepository too. Read more here: www.ethicalconsumer.org

Our future aim is to provide a list of book shops and other genuine retailers in time that we would support by wholesaling to.
Meanwhile we have already distributed books to;
The East Grinstead Bookshop
While in Brighton Robert Jeeves renown Postcard Dealer as Step Back in Time

Aside from our printed Catalogue and lists on our own website, we have added all the New publications we keep on a site called Biblio.
This site lists all of the titles we carry as stockists and will include some of our ‘former owned’ books that are as equally in New condition.
This link takes you to www.Biblio.com where our stock listed from newest added.

Book Conditions

The majority of books we sell from this site are brand New, or less so ‘As New‘. Where we have more than one copy that are in various conditions there will be a drop down option for you to purchase the book in the condition you would prefer and reflected in the price offered. Where we list books on third-party sites we will be giving these book condition gradings on the book listing.

New: A brand new book, bought direct from the publisher or wholesaler, therefore not ‘former owned’, or second-hand.

As New: The book is in the same perfect condition as when first published. This is the description for a book that may have been sat in our premises for years, yet may still be some years old.

Former owned books will be covered in these descriptions.

Fine: A Fine book is almost ‘as new’ however not being crisp. The book may have been opened and read, but there are no defects to the book or pages.

Very Good: Describing a book that shows some minor signs of wear, no tears, either binding or paper. Any defects will be mentioned in the listing detail.

Good: Describes an average used worn book that has all pages or leaves present. Defects will be mentioned in the listing, the poorest condition we would sell a book.

Faded: Where mentioned, the cover will have some colour fading from being in the sunshine, a shop window or bookcase.
