2019 we celebrated our thirtieth year trading in transport collectables after starting in February 1989, and we have come a long way from just selling promotional models through on pack offers..
As regular supporters of many charitable and preservation projects that are of interest to us, and those that share and likewise support our sales, we employed Nigel of Lawrence Signs from Woodingdean make up and affix a number of posters depicting our anniversary images, created by Harry Dinnage to three vehicles currently in preservation.
The Brighton Bus Preservation Society had supported us in this reciprocal way, by allowing us to have these images displayed on all three of their fleet of preserved vehicles. During the rally season of that year these buses were seen and photographed at various events and will therefore be on film for years to come. Therefore in supporting us you supported the Brighton Bus Preservation Society too.
Another tie-up to assist in vehicle preservation during our 30th year was the Southdown LN PCD80R as an Enamel Pin Badge, released to the public on Friday 11th October 2019, issued specially as a commemorative collectable with sales of this badge enabling a donation from every badge towards the preservation costs where the first ten were donated to the owner of the vehicle in preservation. An earlier sponsorship with a bus advert as such, was a ride-on model of the Southdown Queen Mary PD3 which used to be seen at a number of running days like the big Southsea Rally and Littlehampton Bus Running Day. This promotion was for our ‘bricks & mortar’ shop that was in Brighton 1990-2000.
